** Neighbourhood **

The house is in a quiet and safe street but only a few minutes walk from Nakano-Shimbashi station which is just 2 stations away from all the fun and funky shops and restaurants in Shinjuku. From Shinjuku you can easily get to anywhere around Tokyo.

The streets are fairly typical of suburban Tokyo and some urban hiking reveals interesting architecture as well as many green spaces.

On days when you want to stick close to home, the neighbourhood bustles with restaurants, cafes, bars, shops and other amenities. There is a grocery store nearby perfect for stocking breakfast and for snacks, we suggest any of the nearby convenience stores which are open 24 hours.

We've drawn up a neighborhood map to help you find what you need.

** Transport **

Nakano-Shimbashi station on the Marunouchi line is only a few minutes walk.

It would be hard to get a better location for sightseeing. Enjoy a 10 minute train ride to the quiet gardens of Shinjuku Gyoen or the exciting shops around Shinjuku 3-chome. This line is also direct through to Tokyo and Ginza area and all the bright lights and shopping that these areas have on offer.

From Nakano Shimbashi station you can easily access all other parts of Tokyo.

Shinjuku: 7 minutes

Roppongi: 17 minutes

Ginza: 20 minutes

Akihabara: 17 minutes

Ueno: 24 minutes

Tsukiji: 26 minutes

Asakusa: 26 minutes

There are buses to Shinjuku, Shibuya and Omotesando within minutes of the front door.

** Getting Here **

The short answer is sadly no.

Many of the larger train stations have lockers big enough for a full size suitcase. Shinjuku Station has plenty of large coin lockers.

Lovely house

This was a lovely, large house with everything we needed for our group of five adults. It was clean and close to the metro. Highly recommended.

Cant wait to come back & stay again

'This is a lovely house that easily accommodated individual 5 adults and even more if you were a family or group including couples. It had everything we needed, including being a short (5 min walk) to the local metro. The hosts communicated well with us in advance and everything ran smoothly. Thanks for helping us have a wonderful time in Tokyo. We are already planning our return trip and hope to stay here again!!'

Best Japan Air BnB stay!!

The house was incredible. Our group has stayed in several different AirBnBs in Japan, but the Samurai House by far was the best one we have experienced. The host was extremely accomodating and thoughtful. The house was clean, conveniently located, and more than spacious for a group of 6 adults. And the surrounding convenient stores and restaurants are plentiful which was great. Yakitori, Yakiniku or anything - you name it. Cannot recommend enough. Do not miss out on the chance to stay here the next time you are in Tokyo!

Huge house and excellent location

Excellent stay. Very comfortable home in a lovely part of the city. The host was extremely helpful and attentive to all of our needs. He met us on on arrival and explained the house rules and amenities which we found so helpful and made it east to get settled in the house and make our way out in to the city to explore. He even gave us lots of tips on restaurants and places of interest at the should check out. The home wifi was fantastic and super fast and the portable wifi helped us to get around each day. The house was huge and full of all the things we needed during our stay. Thanks again!!!

Hope we can stay here again

It is very close to the subway station, the surrounding environment is very good, clean and quiet, close to the convenience store, there are some to eat. The homeowner is very responsible, will greet us, help us stay, tell us how to classify the garbage, the house is very clean, has characteristics, and the bed is super. I also prepared toys for the children, and the children are very happy! In short, very good stay experience.

Amazing Location!!

Super convenient to the centre of Tokyo and a lovely residential area with plenty of convenience stores and great restaurants within a 10 minute walk. Huge space, so much better than a lot of the shoe-box style accommodation in Tokyo, and very well priced. Loved the traditional styling of tatami mats and sliding doors, and the place was well-supplied with coffee/tea, umbrellas, slippers, and plug adaptors, a touch which was really appreciated. Air conditioning was great, effective during an incredibly hot and humid week. Check in and check out was easy and communication was fast. Pocket wifi made the holiday so much easier owing to all the navigation we were doing, and the on-site internet was likewise fast and convenient. Admittedly we only used the house as a base of operations, out the door early in the morning and returning in the evening, so we didn't do any cooking there, but the kitchen had very good facilities. Highly recommended, especially for large parties and families. We were a smaller group of three people, but it was great to have the extra space to chill out.'

5 star stay

The Samurai house is a more traditional Japanese style house and its so spacious!! It had a lot of neat traditional Japanese furnishings, but was also very clean and well kept. We met the host who checked us in. He was very helpful and provided great recommendations for nearby restaurants, etc. Highly recommend to anyone looking to experience a traditional Japanese home or just looking for place to stay while visiting.

Excellent Tokyo House

This house is fantastic, we had a great stay (4 adults). Extremely clean, well located and lots of space. Air conditioning was excellent even during the recent heat. Host gave us lots of information about the local area which was very useful. Don't think twice about booking this place, you will not be disappointed!

Amazing Samurai House!!

Samurai House is a amazing. The outside is an unassuming brick building but inside is a classic Japanese family home which is a celebration of hardwood floors, sliding paper doors and classic fixtures. Did I mention this place is HUGE? There are two living rooms a separate dining room for 8 people and upstairs there are sliding doors opening onto all of the bedrooms. We had three families to share and everybody had their own space but we were able to enjoy home-cooked family meals together. One of us has food allergies so it is important that we can have a full kitchen. The subway is less than 5 minutes walk away and Shinjuku station is less than 10 minutes ride. Or we got taxi's one day with all our shopping and it was only around 3km on the fare so really cheap. Around the station there are a heap of really amazing local restaurants and each one had English mensus and friendly staff. We felt very welcome in the house and in the neighbourhood. We highly recommend this to anybody wanting a genuine local experience.
