Welcome to our Shinjuku-Yotsuya condo, your home in Tokyo. This unique three-story unit is in a quiet neighborhood just off a main road that takes you straight to bustling Shinjuku. You will be a 5-minute walk to Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, a sprawling, beautifully manicured park, famous for cherry blossom viewing—and a great place for a run. We’re also a 5-minute walk from Araki-cho, a historically alluring little former geisha district modernized into a restaurant filled neighborhood of great food and drink--and a very cool vibe.

Yotsuya is a quiet neighborhood and yet in the middle of the hustle and bustle of urban Tokyo life. The condo is a 5-minute walk to the nearest station, Yotsuyasanchome. All the shopping of Shinjuku is only a 5-minute train ride or a 20-minute walk away. By train, we are a short 10-15 minute ride to Omotesando, Harajuku, Shibuya, Ginza, Marunouchi, and Tokyo.

The condo is 70 sq meters with a 25 sq meter roof garden. It is a very comfortable and spacious place for two people with two inviting lounge areas and a complete office space in addition to a quiet sleeping space. The place has been designed with a couple's lifestyle in mind. It is also an ideal set up for business travelers here for long stretches, with its central location and home office. Pets are welcome. Many of our guests work in fashion, music, design, art, film, or the culinary world--guest after guest, you are an interesting, creative bunch. We've enjoyed meeting each and every one!

An especially good find for fans of design and architecture, our condo, built in 2008, is a unit in a small custom-designed cooperative building. The building exterior is a serene balance of concrete and wood. Inside, the place is a truly original urban space, an open plan split over three levels of living space, with the garden terrace on the fourth. Building the place was a labor of love, we are in every detail of the interior. As is common with most Design Co-ops, the architect gave us free creative reign, and we ran with it. It took two years but was worth the wait!

An quick overview of the layout and setup:

The first floor includes the sleeping quarters, a lounge area for reading and relaxing, as well an office space. It is an open plan but a large wardrobe serves as a partition to keep the main sleeping area private. The queen-sized bed (Simmons pocket-coil mattress) in the sleeping area looks out on a small garden of green. The office can be completely closed off by a sliding wall or left open to be used as an extension of the lounge and living area.

The second floor is the bathroom. The tub is spacious, European-made for long legs, but programmed by Japanese technology to fill automatically at the touch of a button. The toilet is a modern Japanese wonder toilet that opens, flushes and washes itself--and the seat stays heated in the winter. The bathroom also has a shower, sink, and vanity. It is completely stocked with toiletries and towels for your use, including a hair dryer and lots of other extras. We try to make all the amenities available to you as luxurious as we can, including high quality toiletries.

The third floor is the kitchen and living/dining area. Since Colleen is a foreigner and we customized this kitchen for her to use, you’ll see it has a number of non-typical Japanese elements. There is a four-burner stove range with full-sized oven, made in France. And a large dishwasher made in Sweden. Additionally, there is a rice maker, a food processor, microwave, toaster, as well as high-quality, stainless steel pots and pans.

Tokyo definitely has some of the best restaurants in the world, but we understand that some people simply love to cook, or perhaps have food allergies that make eating out hard while you travel. Whether cooked by you or take-out, we definitely recommend making sure you have many meals on the roof terrace during your stay. It's particularly a favorite place for that first morning coffee. Speaking of, you'll have a Nespresso machine stocked with coffee and espresso capsules for the length of your stay. As well as hand-drip options and plenty of tea choices too.

The condo additionally comes equipped with wifi, air conditioning, and heated flooring. And you get a mobile wifi unit so you have an extra way of staying online while out and about around the city.

Our goal is to make this your home, and to help you really enjoy your stay to the fullest. You will arrive to a home ready to be yours. The kitchen is fully equipped, the bookcases are lined with reading options, the music speakers are ready for you to plug in your smartphone or dabble into our record and CD collections, the espresso is poured at the touch of a button. The garden awaits, with a view that stretches as far as Tokyo Skytree.

And for those who expect to be doing work during your stay, the condo has wifi and as much coffee and tea as you'll need--and we also provide mobile wifi so you can connect anywhere on the go. There is an office space on the first floor with a desk, printer, and accessories. The sunny third floor and roof are also nice spaces to take a laptop as well.

While you're out exploring the city or commuting to work, we'll provide you with a mobile wifi device for your smartphone or computer. It will ensure that you can be connected anywhere anytime. There are also bicycles available for you to use if you'd like to get around like locals.

If you'd like regular cleaning while here, we can arrange that as well. Pets are allowed with prior permission. Please inquire for more information. Finally, please note that this is strictly a non-smoking home.

We will contact you prior to arrival with detailed arrival instructions. We will personally greet you and show you into our condo and make sure you are familiar with how everything works.
